States and Capitals of India

The capital of INDIA is NEWDELHI.

The Indian subcontinent consists of 28 states and seven union territories.

There were actually 25 states in India,but in November 2000,three more states were formed from
the existing states of MadhyaPradesh, UttarPradesh and Bihar, which brought the figure up to 28.

The states and their capitals are as follows:-
